Greatly influenced by his meetings with Clifford Curzon, Claudio Arrau and Myra Hess, the success of Peter Katin's Wigmore Hall debut in 1948 started him on a career that has taken him throughout the world. A performance of Rachmaninov's D minor Concerto established him as a virtuoso of the first order.
He is a leading interpreter of the works of Chopin. He has over thirty recordings available, more than at any time in his career.
We welcome Peter Katin on this, his second, visit to the Bognor Regis Music Club. "The key quality is not that his playing is old-fashioned, but that it transcends fashion" Programme : to include works by Chopin and Schubert |
Entrance by ticket only, from the Treasurer. All seats are numbered, price £12. Members have priority for tickets until 1st January 2003
