John Hardie studied singing at the Music Schools of Cape Town and Stellenbosch Universities, before proceeding to further studies at the Wendy Fine Opera Studio in Cape Town. Following a successful career in opera, oratorio and concert work in South Africa, during which time he won six national singing awards, he brought his family to England, where he is once again gaining recognition as a performer, teacher and masterclass tutor. He has now settled in Chichester and works regularly as a recitalist with Colin Peters.
Colin Peters is a gold medallist at the Trinity College of Music. He made his performing debut in a weekly series of piano recitals over a period of two years where he was fulfilling his National Service commitments.
He studied at the universities of Nottingham and London, where he took a PhD, and with Vivian Langrish (Royal Academy of Music), before embarking on a career in higher education, where he contributed to and edited a number of books. He also continued as a soloist and accompanist, working regularly with principals from Glyndebourne and Kent Opera. He is currently a freelance pianist, teacher, examiner and adjudicator and his work has included extensive tours of Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Southern Africa, Cyprus and many parts of Europe.
